The factory Mercedes-AMG M177 aluminum block was never designed for the cylinder pressures seen in today’s high-boost, high-power applications. When pushing the limits of the platform, proper cylinder support becomes non-negotiable. Our M177 Darton Sleeving Machining Service transforms the stock block into a foundation capable of handling extreme horsepower reliably.
This service involves precision machining and installation of Darton ductile iron sleeves, providing vastly improved cylinder strength, distortion control, and long-term durability under high boost and elevated combustion loads.
Each block is CNC-machined, sleeved, and finish-honed to within ±0.0001", ensuring exceptional bore geometry, ring seal, and piston stability—critical for both high RPM and high cylinder pressure operation.
